The Cambridge University Engineers' Association is an organisation for all current and past members of the University of Cambridge who are affilliated with Engineering.
Cambridge Engineers have been helping to improve our world for more than 150 years and, given the scale of the challenges and opportunities facing the world today, the demands for their continuing contribution are as great as ever. The general aim of CUEA is to contribute to improving the effectiveness of current and future engineers who have been or are associated with the Cambridge University Engineering Department.
From Le Mans winners to everyday items, Tim Minshall discusses the objects that highlighted to him the challenges of getting from idea to international commercial success. The objects each hold a story that have shaped Tim's career and showcase the intricate factors required for successful innovation.
After a few years of inactivity, the Association elected a new President in 2018, Brian Phillipson. Under Brian's stewardship, the Association has undergone a full review to set a path to an engaging and esteemed CUEA.
Brian matriculated in 1971, and subsequently had a distinguished career in Aerospace and Defence, mainly with BAE Systems. For several years he worked in Munich, Germany, as the CEO then COO of the Eurofighter company, leading the Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft programme.
