Helia Launch - Cambridge University Eco Racing

Cambridge University Eco Racing, one of the largest student teams at the Engineering Department would like to invite alumni of CUED to the launch of their vehicle, Helia, at the London Science Museum on Thursday, 15 August 19:15 – 21:45. They have been building a four seat road legal solar powered electric vehicle which will be the UK's Most Efficient Electric Car. 

The vehicle has been the product of close collaboration between the team and a large number of British Engineering companies and automotive experts who have helped develop and manufacture Helia. The team's primary objective has been to provide a platform for students to learn by working on a highly practical project.Their philosophy with this car has been to bring together the best technology currently available to create an innovative and exciting showcase of what can be possible with current electric vehicle and renewable energy technologies.  

The team will be competing in the 2019 World Solar Challenge in Australia later this year where they are targeting a podium finish in the Cruiser Class. The team have been working with the Science Museum Group who are hosting a private night for the team to launch their vehicle at the Museum and showcase the project.
